I havent even been here two weeks, and I have tried so many good foods!! Kamille secretly makes fun of me but I love to take pictures of everything new I eat! Unfortunatly, I didnt get to take pictures of a few things. I have also had tofu, seaweed, pig ear, and a couple things I have no idea what they were. Nothing I have tried has been too bad, infact i have liked most everything. Except  for soy milk I only put that in chocolate-peanut butter-Banana Smoothies. Here are pictures for most everything else!
Taiwanese Guava

Wax Apple

I call this hidden cheese stick bread because there is cheese in the middle!! So good!
Cheese Bread

Too sweet for me.

The filling was gross

They call it "Chinese Pizza"
French toast sandwich

Filled with green onion

Best two pizzas!!

Beef Fried Rice
Pancake filled with cabbage and ham, then topped with dried fish and some sauce

Strawberry Apple Smoothie

I have no clue what this is, they gave it to me with my food.

Addicted!! You can get them in the U.S. try them if you havent already.

A little girl Clarie always runs up to me and says "Teacher, Candy" Then she gives me candy.
Im loving it here and cant wait for all the other foods I will get to try. Especially during Chinese New Years!!

Kill The Beast..

Kamille and I made a plan to sneak attack Bartholomew, to our surprise when I opened up the cupboard to look for something else there he was just mocking us on the cleaners!! We got him though, or so we thought apparently that was just his best friend. We found Bartholomew today in his regular cupboard, we are still working on killing him, but atleast we have one down. Check out Kamilles blog for a DIY tutorial on how to kill cockroaches.

Yes! We got him!

Oh sick

Ahh look at his legs!!

Not so sweet potatoes

Me and Kamille walked to church on Sunday, Its only about a fifteen minute walk so not to bad. We decided that walking was probably more safe until we figured out how to ride our bikes without dying in the traffic!! You will be pleased to know that we have used our bikes since then, and are still living! Anyways the missionaries translated for us, and ward members who spoke English came and talked to us, everyone here is so nice!

The sister missionaries took us to the night market one night and they ordered me beef fried rice! It was yummy as can be. The night market is probably going to be our favorite place to eat. Everything is really cheap only about 50NTD which is like $1.75. Its cheaper to go buy a fresh cooked meal than to buy something to make. Plus everything we have tried we have loved. We went by our self the other night and I got a smoked honey chicken sandwich. It is kind of neat because its like french toast that they have hollowed out the middle and then they put the meat and veggies in the middle and it was very good. I could eat that every night!! Also, it is the only place that has English next to the Chinese so we can just point to what we want. I need to try a smoothie still and we found a place that has pizza we might try soon!!

Finally, I was given my topic for teaching and guess what it is?? SWEET POTATOES! What?!? I have to plan and prepare lessons around sweet potatoes for a month?? Oh dear! I'm going to have to get very creative!! If you have any suggestions or ideas please let me know... I'm going to need them! However, I also get language arts, so that will be fun being able to teach the alphabet and plan those lessons!

Kamille and I are trying to get rid of  cockroaches in our apartment. um gross!! Kamille does all the killing of the insects because I get to scared!! I think "I can kill that bug with ease" and then I get close to killing it, nope I cant do it!! Then Kamille found him, A giant cockroach living in one of our kitchen cupboards, we left him there and we call him Bartholomew! He still lives there as far as we know!! We have no idea how to get rid of him, we bought traps to put around our apartment but they are too small for our friend bart. Any suggestions??

Just a small cockroach I found in my room and caught in a jar

This is Bartholomew's Cupboard, I refuse to open it

Look at what i get to see for six months, I think I'm pretty lucky!!
(I took these from the roof of the school, where I live.)

Ears, Tongues, Feet... Here I Come

I'm back!! Finally I have things that I blog about! This is going to be a long one, sorry I promise to keep them shorter from now on, and I will start to take pictures and videos to share too. So if you didnt know I am officially in Taiwan now! Can I just tell you how much I already love it here?? Everything is wonderful!! I have never met so many nice people in my life!! Everywhere Kamille and I were people were more than willing to stop and help us out, even if we didnt need the help(Although it probably looked like we needed help all the time)

While waiting in line to board our very long flight, Kamille and I met an adorable vietamese family who had just been on vacation to Hollywood!! They talked to us all the way until we had boarded the plane! Then we sat down by an old vietamese lady, im pretty sure im going to adopt her she was so sweet.. She  just pulled out her bag of peanuts and offered them to us, then she asked us about what our plans were, "You two are too young to be doing this." she responded. The rest of the flight she was like our protective mom, making sure our very yummy food got to us, even if we were sleeping. Once we finally landed in Tai Pei we found out that Kamille's bags decided they didnt want to be stuck on a 14 hr plane ride(but can you blame them?) so they just stayed in LA I suppose, unfortunatly that means Kamille is without a lot of things until "further notice", Cross your fingers that means monday!

Anyways from the TPE airport we took a 45 min bus to the Taipei Train station, where we met Yulings friend Dennis, He was so funny. He was kind of upset Yuling hadnt told him earlier about us coming because he wanted us to bring him and Abercrombie and Fitch poofy vest! Ha but he helped us get on the right train, he asked a Girl named Bonnie to help us to make sure we got off on the right stop. Man oh Man was I tired by this point. My head was bobbing like there was no tomorrow and I think  I must have slept for a little bit but the train ride was beautiful. The mountians are just cover in jungle trees and waterfall, then on the other side you have the blue ocean.

Driving here is crazy here and i was scared for my life when yuling was driving us around! There are thousands of scooters and cars. Then Yuling says "We have laws you have to follow, but they are more like guidelines. If you follow the rules you will end up in a coffin." Oh Great!! Just what i wanted to hear. I cant wait to ride my bike around... NOT Im terrified im going to get killed!!
Yuling took us around to get groceries so that we dont have to shop on sunday!! Im so excited to try all the foods around here!! everything looks amazing!!  We ended up just gettinng cereal and noodles for now but there are so many different things I want to try.. I probably wont be adventurous with the meats yet but ears, tongue, feet, here i come!!
